Last month I had an offer from SpaceX and Uber. Though SpaceX had my ideal role duties, career “story”, and mission I ended up going with Uber as location was just a better fit for me (SF Bay Area), and I was honestly a little afraid of SpaceXs WLB though my role was more on the business side so I was told it’d be more of an ebb and flow. Very tough decision, and have honestly regretted it. For context TC Uber: 80k base SpaceX: 75k base + 80k equity/5years A month into my new role at Uber and I’m not feeling a fit (on top of concerns around market conditions). Though it’s definitely chill. I see the SpaceX role (Role A) I interviewed for has been reposted. Additionally there is another similar role (Role B) with SpaceX 20 minutes from where I live on a different team, but in the same vein of work. I’ve applied to Role B, and tried reaching out to my old recruiter to see if I could get in contact with the hiring team but apparently she left the company a few weeks back. Reapplying to Role A feels awkward at this point, but I’m tempted. Is this a time to “wait and see” or does anyone have some advice on how to move forward/signal interest? Should I contact some of the people I interviewed with? On the other hand, how did u all get over what felt like a career misstep at the time?

Did you add anyone from your interview team on LinkedIn?
I did not, but they were pretty cool guys so I probably should’ve. I just have phone numbers but I worry that’s a little forward.
