I'm probably about to get an offer from a late stage startup at which I really like the people, the culture, and the pay in the offer, but I'm not crazy about the product. I'm about to have an interview at Square (a company I like) and a well-funded late stage startup that I have a personal interest in, and am interested in what offers I can get from them. I think I need to buy some time just to feel things out (even though I'll likely go with this offer.) TC: 117k
Yeah definitely delay the negotiation process as much as you can and let the other companies know you already have an offer and would like to move your interview dates. Btw What roles ?
That's the plan, I need to see if I can get pre-approved for a house loan with whatever the offer price is, so I'll just mention that because it's true and will take some time. It's a BIE position.
Absolute worst case scenario if you can't delay is to accept, push out your start date as long as possible, and rescind your acceptance if you get one of the other roles.
I guess that's technically legal with at-will employment isn't it.... good point.
I did same thing. Pushed the start date as long as possible on the first one after asking few extra days to decide. After accepting verbal one - I hold signing offer letter til offer deadline to buy the time.
I’m not complaining, I just honestly haven’t been in the situation before.

Just had the same thing happen to me. I'm not super on board with the product but they asked what my buyout price was, so I pitched a number and they matched it (meaning I probably asked too low 🙃) The people were great in all 4 interviews and they apparently have a much better WLB than where I'm currently at which was my #1 goal.
Congrats! That’s awesome. Even if the product isn’t super exciting at the moment having good culture and people, and being paid well is of course very important
That's exactly what just happened to me! Congrats!
