I had received a Full Time Offer after my Software Engineering internship at a company. The bonus stocks were way lesser than what they give a new hire. So I had emailed the recruiter with a counter. The recruiter never replied back and I ended up signing the offer a couple of hours before the deadline. A few days later I found out that the recruiter left Microsoft just a few days after I signed the letter and it is quite possible that he did not convey my negotiation offer to my manager. I contacted the new recruiter and he told me nothing can be done as the offer is locked. As I did not have any other offer, I joined the company and it's been 4 months. I was just wondering if I could bring that up again as I feel the stocks provided were substantially lower that what they generally offer. Thanks.
You should bring it up with your hiring manager. Recruiters are not in a position to approve anything retroactively.
I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m afraid there’s not much you can do now. The recruiter works for the company and not you. Move on and learn from this. Do a good job and convince your manager to pay you more refresher next year.
You can certainly bring it up. It’s not likely to result in something substantial, but it may make you feel better.
Wow, that's unfortunate. Depending on when you sent the counter email and the date you signed the offer, perhaps you can make a case where you really didnt have any choice. Still, I dont think this will change anything in the end, unfortunately..
Trust me, nothing is gonna change. Just interview and jump over. They will make empty promises, say it's not important, out of their control, etc
Find a new place externally get new stocks there
Always trust your manager before you jump to conclusions about him. Show your worth and expect him to reciprocate. If he does you could have just found a great manager and you can expect to work for him in the long term. Otherwise, LC and GTFO MS.
They have no power to change it
If you were not happy with the offer, don't sign. Now you have no negotiation power. Keep interviewing and look for better opportunities.
You signed on the offer when you had opportunity to decline. Not sure if a lot can be done.
