I had a virtual onsite on 12/22/2021 for a non-tech manager role for a Adtech/Martech/SaaS company based out of SFO. The company shut down for holidays and I get a message from recruiter on 1/4/2022 to speak with another team member who returned from vacation. Spoke to that person on Friday noon (1/7/2022). Spoke to a total of 7 ppl during the virtual onsite and I felt that the company set me up for success during the interview process. They did a great job in sending me required materials and questions to prepare for the interview. Yesterday (1/10/2022), I got a message from recruiter if I have a minute to discuss about my candidacy.(exact words) Not sure how to interpret it but my anxiety levels have shot up. How is it looking guys? Yay or Nay YOE 6+years TC 95k (LCOL) Edit: Got a Reject. Got valuable feedback and reason why they are going with other candidate.Getting constructive feedback in this job market shit storm is rare and golden. My respect for this company increased 10x after this interview experience. #hrissues
Generally speaking if you cleared an on-site successfully the recruiter will want to call you ASAP and at least let you know they are preparing an offer for you. That said, recruiters are so different. Also each company is different. It doesn’t mean anything unfortunately. You should be able to tell in the first 5 seconds just from the tone of their voice. The holidays and all the COVID outbreak make this time of year particularly wonky as well.
I agree with you especially how things are right now. The follow up was immediate. Literally one business day after the final round
This is good information. I appreciate your response 😊
I had a similar experience and thought it was a discussion to tell me no; but was a detailed verbal job offer. If you are not prepared to comment, just say let me digest it and get back to you. I clearly told them that his message didn’t sound like an offer discussion so I need to think about it for a few days at least.
Signs look good. Hopefully you get that SFO TC in your LCOL lifestyle.
What was the end result here?

It’s a numbers game mate. Just keep at it. I usually have to interview 10 people and loop 4 people to get to one offer.
In my experience, Recruiters would convey more excitement in the email if they are going to offer. I’d say nay, but you never know. Put your focus on other opportunities until you meet.
I had the very same reaction when I saw that email. It was very formal and professional. Hence, the confusion!!
