I got an offer from a company I really like but they are offering me the exact same base pay as my current company. I really like this company and want to move out of my current company. Is it a worth doing? Nothing is finalized. What should I do to get more? I asked them but they are being adamant...
What’s the base salary and yoe?
147k and 4 years
How about TC? Current and offered?
"Other selling points" = "not working at oath". Push back for whatever you can get, but certainly take it at the end of the day.
I wouldn't do it. I did something similar and I'm regretting. Your current job is leverage. You should use it to get into a much better situation.
So you told them your current pay? Lolll dude....
Cash equivalents....sign on bonus...another week of vacation...
well is it a lateral move? just do it. you interviewed for a reason and that reason wasn’t TC.

Did you tell them your current compensation?
No, but I told them that my current base pay is very close to the one they are offering and it makes it very unattractive. They are trying to sell other points.
Say current base pay is 5k higher and ask for 10% on top of that. They'll give you their best offer. That's how negotiations work.
