Had a call with a recruiter from a staffing agency who me for any PAID positions that I have on my resume, I should take out the word “intern” and just write the positions down. and leave the word intern if its not a paid position.
Sounds like they want to pitch you to companies with more experience than you have.
This is 100% true. They want more billing rate or commission
Holy shit that's such bad advice. It's akin to lying about your background
“Staffing agency” - should have stopped there and say fuck no
Seconded. They're such trash and rude.
She's probably advising you to do it because many companies don't count time in internships in their yoe number (which is bs)
It's really not... Internships shouldn't count towards YOE. A new grad is a new grad, not an SDE2 just because theyve had a few internships
I've learned more in my 3 internships than I did in my first year as a new grad. Frankly I think internship experience is even more valuable as it's a condensed period of time where you're working in a new project and new company so there's so much to learn. And a few internships isn't enough yoe to be an sde2 anyways
