so they can ask more questions including those sensitive ones
Coz information density in 30 mins of synchronous communication exceeds anything you could exchange over 100 emails.
I dont need to receive info worth 100 email from a recruiter.
Amazon you're not getting the point
They can tell you more if it's not in writing.
Coz they want to know if you got pip'd or how desperate are you to leave Amazon
Because recruiting is a sales job and it’s way easier to influence people in real-time communication
Yes exactly this. Recruiters usually have the upper hand unless the candidate is willing to walk away
Cus normal people aren’t afraid of social interaction like most swes are
Lol
a recruiter call isnt a social interaction. Its a business deal that seeks to favor the company. In such deals sometimes its easier to 'talk' ... but usually the candidate sees and feels the impact ( personally) whereas for the recruiter you are just one more case/applicant. If the deal doesnt workout then no big issue for the recruiter but for the candidate it usually is a big impact. So psychology wise, talking without the upper hand is a losing proposition. Hence email might be better. But mix of both is probably whats best.
To make sure you ain’t a jerk.
It’s for a job you will be making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in. Take the 30 min call and calm down.
This made me laugh out loud lmao
They talk on the phone with candidates every single day. You talk with recruiters about a job every two years. They have a massive advantage on a phone call.
I mean are you paid for #calls/day or what...
