There are no jobs for recruiters and it won’t ever return to what it was. If you get laid off right now, expect to be out of work for a year at minimum. If you’re one of the few who find another opportunity, expect a 20-30% pay cut: supply and demand. It is an employers market right now. It’s over. Automation is coming. No one respects recruiters.
It's more a function of the future expected hires overall. If companies forecast they will hire 50% less people in the next 12 months then they can lay off 50% of their recruiters.
90% as per the new world that Mr X is shaping...
Ok sir
Recruiting isn’t difficult. Totally understand why it’s being cut down.
Recruiting may not be difficult but it is still tedious. I do not see a reason why a lot of the recruiting role can’t be automated. If it can’t be automated, I would open a trade school for recruiting in flyover country. Paying Seattle/SF/NYC level salaries for a recruiter seems inefficient from a finance perspective.
DEI objectives are garbage
As someone that’s been through 3 economic downturns, it’ll come back. It always does.
Do you experience ageism on Blind
Nope. More sexism than anything else.
SWE will be automated in very near future. Then no one will respect SWEs.
Im sure it will eventually, but not anytime soon
Sure. Give it 20 years and that may be true.
I just want to say that I respect recruiters and I think it’s as valuable job as any other.
I just don’t have illusions about my own contribution
How is Hubspot doing?
My ex-girlfriend was a recruiter and was terrible in bed. Can confirm, recruiters are terrible
Who recruits the recruiters
technical recruiter needs to be much more technically specialized - placing very unique skill sets to rare, very hard to fill positions - this will be the way.

>>No one respects recruiters. Even if it is true, it is a shitty thing to say. Look in the mirror Amazon.
I actually respect recruiters. Their job is hard and their incentives (to get you hired), aligns with my incentives (to be hired) - so I have almost always had pleasant interactions with them.
Recruiters arent respected because they arent respectful not bevause of the role
