How bad is it in meta?
What does Reddit staff level equate to for G/FB? I see some staff DS roles open, but only 5 YOE required so I’m wondering if staff at Reddit is more just L5 at other places
Are you giving interviews for them?
Did Reddit have any layoffs ?
Yes they did layoffs twice I believe
Thanks btw how’s work in meta ? Do you guys have pip culture ?
What is product vs system design interview in Meta?
Typical Reddit staff offer is ~250k base, no bonus. Equity offers are in shares rather than $. Not sure what typical offer is at current valuation. Staff at Reddit is probably a lateral move comp-wise for a Sr DS at Meta/G. ML-track gets about twice as much equity as Analytics track. Salaries are similar.
Can anyone refer me to a staff role?
Staff at Reddit is like L5.75 at G/FB. Similar scope to staff, but usually Reddit wants less leadership and more hands on execution whereas G/FB expect staff to be team leads more often than not. The biggest difference is pay. Reddit has better cash comp (staff can be over $290k base vs $240k at G/FB), but their equity is of questionable value and they only offer 3 year grants if I remember correctly
So what's their effective TC assuming their equities hold their face value?
my 2cents: just don’t set any assumptions on the stock value and take the cash base as it
