Hello blind community. I got offer from Reddit and couldn’t decide to accept. So i am posting here to get the opinion of the community. My goal is to earn good but also I want to stay in a company for long time and learn and grow into an EM or Principal engineer. I am a mobile engineer (iOS). Reddit is offering Staff position YOE: 10 Base: 295k/year RSU: $500k/3 yr - 🥜 Sign on Bonus: 50k Remote first current tc: 350k #reddit #reddit #tech
$300k but it's Reddit. Tough.
Lmao what do you mean it’s Reddit. Culture is fantastic over here, pay is pretty solid given the base, and IPO will happen at some point regardless of price.
@ceui45 what's your role? what's your base, tc, etc?
Why don’t you ask this on /r/cscareerquestions and get those fuckers responses 🤣
Current tc?
Congrats! It’s a great group on iOS from what I know. Your current situation is the most important. If you’re running toward a cliff, that 300k base + sign on is real attractive. Equity should be liquid within 2 years - but don’t be surprised if it’s 1/3-1/2 of the advertised grant.
What is it exactly that is bothering you? Location will affect your expenses so in turn your TC Reddit has a great iOS app. I am an ios dev and also interviewed at Reddit. Felt like a great company to join. I was down leved hence did not join.
They will have a solid IPO probably worth joining!
Good offer, looks above the range for Staff Nice work not getting down leveled too, which is apparently very common at Reddit. Question: Are they still using last year's valuation when talking options?
I heard Reddit has been hiring like mad, so I'd be a bit worried about layoffs in 6 months while Apple is probably the safest place in tech
Thank God. One offer post after so many days
