I received the below offer from Reddit Base: 240k Annual bonus: 0 RSU: 90k per year, for 3 years, based on 10B valuation. Does it make any sense to accept this over other offers with 2x RSU and 15% bonus? Reddit will need to grow to 25B valuation to break even. Their last valuation was 6B, but they are calculating offer at 10B. Edit: YOE: 8years Level: E5 Location: Bay area Current TC: 500k due to stock appreciation G offer: 220k base, 15% annual bonus, 850k RSU Also, Reddit recruiter didn’t confirm if they have annual refreshers. If they don’t, it won’t break even even at 25B. Decided to reject the offer.
Not sure why Reddit low balls engineers for equity. They lose quite a bit of top talent doing so
top talent would never work for reddit lmao
They're not known for hiring top talent anyway.
Low low comp.
FB's market cap is $929b. If you assume reddit has the potential to grow to a fraction of that in public market when they IPO, you are better off with Reddit
10B is a fraction of 929B
Your offer should be equal or more than your other offers for it to make sense to pick up non public RSUs - that way - when Reddit valuation actually jumps - you have an upside. That is the whole point of signing up for non-public RSUs.
Reddit has become a shit tier site as a result of their continuous pushing of UX anti-patterns. I am personally quite bearish and would avoid.
I had an offer from Reddit not long ago, similar terms, declined because of low equity. Sure, they have the potential to grow to the size of snap or Pinterest, but it will take a while and lots of things could go wrong.
What kind of questions can one expect? Leetcode mediums? What topics?
Never assume bigger valuation than the one investors calculated on the last round of investment. Companies may struggle to keep it up, and it doesn't even always go up. Also keep in mind that investors have gotten preferred stock for their money while investing at 6B while you will be getting common stock with much higher risk profile. That means that you need to take 6B with a grain of salt too, not to mention 10B. Congrars with your offers anyways and good luck!
Aren’t their RSUs over 4 years normally?

YOE? Current TC? Offer compared to what others? A little difficult to evaluate the offer in a vacuum, tbh. It’s an offer *I* would take, but I’m also a filthy 2 YOE
