https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/comments/y0e12p/got_hired_into_too_senior_of_a_position_boss_is/ Reading these comments is insanity to me, clearly this person is well over their own heads and should try either preping to leave / having an honest talk with their boss about their qualifications. Why is no one telling them this in the comments, why is the entire thread always devolve into boss = bad Also this is what happens when we live in a culture of get the job don't care what happens afterwards, see this with bootcamp grads all the time who do a 2 month coding course then can barely carry their weight at the small company they joined leading them to get pip'ed TC: đĽ
no winners in that situation bruh. looks like he was hired for a slightly senior role but the expectation mismatch came from the dude not having any prior experience in a key aspect of the role. does sound like the manager should be helping the dude grow into the role a bit if he hired him for his expertise in other things. youâre not being much better than the folks in the comments when you take the post of a dude with multiple yoe and compare that to 2 month coders. go talk to whoever youâre actually mad at rather than projecting it
Lol what? Boss sounds like a prick. Even considering weâre hearing one side of the story, itâs obvious they donât know how to hire.
Youâre the idiot. Clearly he didnât lie about his qualifications and applied for what he thought was a good fit, but he got baited into a role thatâs a bit above his head. This is not his fault but on the boss. And then you make some obscene comparison to bootcamp grads and not pulling weight when it is a coin flip across juniors whether cs degree or bootcamp.
