I got a down-leveled IC4 offer from Reddit (TC: 400k) I’m a Principal SE, with a promo to SPSE coming in the next 6-12 months. Current TC: 330k FWIW, I had an IC6 offer from Robinhood that I turned down a few months ago because it didn’t seem like a great fit. Kicking myself a little because offer TC was 575k. Should I accept Reddit’s offer for the bump in TC despite the down level? I’m considering keeping my search going but I only want fully remote and it seems like those are becoming harder to find at these TC ranges.
Reddit is one massive echo chamber / CIA / FBI propaganda platform. Unless you are a communist don’t work there.
What is it about you and Red companies?
Nooo less work and responsibilities and more money 😭😭😭
Don't go for reddit. Use your current title to get a higher title and comp elsewhere.
Don’t join Reddit .. it’s a political cesspool if you are in engineering
Fair but what company isn’t like that? Seems to be the case nearly everywhere
Reddit is uniquely political. Some folks have left for TikTok and are happier.
Don’t take the downlevel! I got down leveled with the promise of great promotion potential, one year later and my chances of promotion are slim due to budget constraints, I really wish I either fought harder for a higher level or just turned the role down and waitef for something better with the pay that I wanted.
If your comp includes stock then the diff may not be much between redhat and reddit to give you enough downward protection. It is not out of reddit employees lock out period.
