Hello everyone. I will be finishing my PhD in May 21 and currently looking for full-time roles within data science and machine learning space. My background is mostly in computer vision and deep learning applied towards autonomous vehicles. I recently came across few data/AI/ML Scientist roles at General Motors. Was wondering if someone can help submit a referral and I can share my past experience, publications etc. This would really help to remain in the application process. Thanks, really appreciate your help guys!

DM for GM referral
Hi can I DM you I'm looking for a new grad role referral
I assume you want to go to Cruise?
If you’d be willing to think about other CV spaces, Amazon Go is hiring! DM if interested :)
Did you mistype Tesla as GM?
haha no!
DM me if interested in Sam’s Club
Do not work at GM. PLEASE, for the love of humanity. I worked in the R&D department for years and can answer any questions you have about how they do AI/ML/Data Science. Think about it like this- I enjoy my 80hr work weeks more at Deloitte than the 40hrs I used to spend at GM.
How is the work at Deloitte? I'm curious about how ai/ml consulting is compared to ai/ml roles in other industries
Thanks for the insights. I am curious about their AI ML stack. Do they implement full cycle ML like from research prototyping upto deployment and also how would you compare it with deloitte?
This is a duplicate post of "Referral help for General Motors (Data Science & Analytics)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/fSTXeDo4 Where I gave similar advice to stay away from GM because of low pay, talent is not as strong as competitors, and they don’t care about SWE/DS/ML. Once again, consider waymo, cruise, Tesla, etc.
But isn’t cruise part of gm now
Yes, but they don’t pay like GM. They pay good still
Do not go for GM. Pretty shitty company, telling from personal experience. Don't even waste time talking to recruiter for jobs in GM
GM is terrible no growth, deadend, old tech
Stay away from GM. It's not worth it trust me, You're more than capable of working at Waymo, Apple, Uber, etc.
Thanks for pointing out. can you help us understand why would you recommend so?
