Regarding employment at Hedge Funds as an Engineer

I am currently an EM at Goldman Sachs. Looking to make a switch to a Hedge Fund. I have a few questions to those who know about these firms: 1. Do they hire EMs? I haven’t come across such roles so far. 2. If they do, why kind of interviews shall I expect ? LC and SD I presume? 3. Will my Java background be a hindrance to work there ? 4. Anyone switched from an EM role to an IC role? I am open to that but will need to know what is the kind of work and interview preparation to expect. Thanks TC:350
