Hi all, I’m an iOS Dev with 9+ yoe, in Austin. I recently got 2 offers from PayPal and Adobe for fully remote positions. Will be presented packages the next few days. Possibly around TC 300k-350k range. And I also got invite from LinkedIn for the final onsite interview for Senior level. I’m asking to interview for Staff level, but the recruiter said they saw no indication from first round interview for me as staff level, so will be for senior level only. I checked in Levels.FYI, and looks like LinkedIn staff level is equal to FB E5 and Google L5 (which is the same level I interviewed with FB and Google previously) I will most likely decline to do the onsite, if they won’t consider me as Staff candidate. Because it is not level up my offer and career and TC will most like not much difference from Adobe and PayPal will offer. I already keep interviewing for 9 months since May last year, got 15 final onsite already from all famous techs including FAANG, feeling tired. If LinkedIn want to interview me with Staff level, then they will be the 16th one. Should I interview with LinkedIn for senior level? Lmao. LinkedIn is still in its FLAG dream. They are so self flattered thinking their staff level is prestigious. In fact, LinkedIn is hardly a tier1 company anymore.
The best way to get the level you think you deserve is by interviewing at different companies for staff, then you come back to LinkedIn and say "I am interviewing at X company for staff" preferably FAANG, and tell them kindly that if they don't interview you for staff you're not interested. And you have to be prepared to walk away, of course.
Yeah, thanks. That’s exactly what I replied to the recruiter. I previously interviewed with FB/Meta E5 and Google L5, and FB already passed onsite stage and being submitted to HC for approval
Hey! Linkedin is an awesome company, but dont take the interview if its for senior. 9+ YOE begs for Staff. You can negotiate upto 450k easily with competing offers. Pretty sure Linkedin will beat Google and fb senior offers.

Linkedin can be one of the best places for ML, depending on your org. I'm in Ads AI, which is an amazing org since the skills that I'll pick up will be quite transferrable. Go for it - Fresh Staff ML external hires start from 400k. You have lots staffs getting 500k+ too.
To be fair, LinkedIn senior offer can top at 400k (depends on your location) Basically you can do less work for the same amount of money, with easy promotion in the future I guess? Nordstrom is not a tech company, and pretty low ranked in term of bar, which is probably why you got down leveled. If you cared about career and money, you shoulda have switch to a tech company long time ago. How confident are you that you can operate at a staff level in LinkedIn, slightly above regular senior level compare to other fangg. Honestly, interviewed for 9 month with 15 onsite and only 2 offer from Adobe and PayPal doesn't reflect you are very technically strong.
