Rejected and dejected

Just a post where I rambled about the pain of being rejected and all the start overs for job searching again.. For a moment I felt so lost with my data analyst career choice. Got rejected by LinkedIn onsite, Facebook onsite. For Google's 1st round, the recruiter emailed that they got my feedback and want to talk, after two days no reply to confirm a time yet (not hoping for much).. Unless I get into FANG or equivalent company, there's no way to get the same pay grade if it is out of banking esp in Asia banking is the one that pays.. All of a sudden, I feel so dejected rejected and lost with what I really want and capable of doing... What's making it worse.. doesn't seem to have a lot of options in the market now. Is data analyst getting anywhere at all..

Keep trying. Work harder. You raise your game and they reach out after 6 months

Currently stuck at my current role not learning anything.. I am considering if I should lower my expectation get into a smaller co. with a pay cut, or else.. doing something at the side like a side project / portfolio to prepare for future opportunities..

I am in same boat . Do minimal work let them sack or lay off . Pick where you wanna go . Get some skills and certification courses or udemy. You need to show new skills either via work exp or GitHub or self learning . Keep trying . I know how a shithole feels and looks like. You quitting would make them happy and why you nothing in return . Identify dream reach and safe forks 10 each create a excel start from safe move to reach and dream at the end of 60-90 day kiss good bye and move

Rejections happen to the best among us as well. What makes the difference is how much you learn from it and how well you pick yourself back up after it. Take a bit of a break from interview prep, refresh your mind for a week or so. Then get back straight into it, you can do it.

How do you learn from rejection when you don’t know why you were rejected?

Interview fail often are due to a knowledge gap or a communications gap (or both). If it’s a knowledge gap you know what to do. Take classes in the areas you struggled at and try again. If it’s communications related, start practicing Situational/behavioral questions and use the STAR method.

Feeling lost after couple of interviews? Understandable but unreasonable. I gave 15 interviews and then landed my final offer. But before this, i had been trying for years to break into these top companies. But over the years, i learnt that i needed to up my game significantly.

You should have started with smaller fish and work your way up to Fang interviews... It's OK do some side projects and build up skills. If you can show you are a producer in your free time you will get in for sure

Keep your spirit up. Be calm and composed, you have got this. Get on to the LC grind after a small refreshing break and you will do better. Right now I am in a state where I am too under confident to appear for the interviews. I am trying to get out of this phase as well.
