I applied a Finance Manager role in Amazon. I replied HR’s questions saying I need H1B and hopefully green card and my range is mid to upper 100k (9 years experience) Then she told me Amazon does not sponsor H1B. Is it true? Or my pay range is too high and that’s just her excuse?
Amazon sucks in this regard. They tell different stories to different candidates. Couple of years ago they rescinded my offer because it was my last try for H1B. For my friend, there was no such condition even though it was the same situation. I would probably look at other offers that don’t have such bs around visa/green card.
Amazon is one of the biggest abusers of H1b. Maybe you're not Indian and that's why they rejected you
I thought cisco was biggest abuser of visas
Cisco doesn't even show up on the radar, weird
Well now that they have one of their biggest offshore offices in India, they don't need to sponsor.
May be title and role based - they probably have a lot of applicants that are local foe this title.
This.
You can file a discrimination law suit if Amazon rejected for visa sponsorship provided if they have sponsored earlier for the same position
For non technical roles h1b is not applied. Atleast this is what i have observed talking to friends in FAANG
Maybe your non-indian thats why. Amazon is known for abusing and exploiting guys on Visa especially indians
Say whattttt
