Rejected from Apple multiple times although interviews were better than expected

Hi Blind community, I’m in Canada and I’ve been approached by Apple recruiters for different positions in Cupertino over the last few years. I got into the onsite interviews for all of them after talking to the hiring managers and possibly a couple technical phone interviews. The onsite interviews for most of them went fine except maybe a few minor hiccups. However at the end I got a reject from all of them. This happened over the last 2 years and every time when the next recruiter approaches, they say last time both technical and behavioral feedback were positive but the team decided not to go forward. And the story continues. I still get messages from their recruiters for different positions but I am too afraid to go forward now not knowing what is the reason of these rejects. Can someone from Apple maybe give me some insight on what is happening here? I had similar exp for a PD position at Apple. I told them I have an offer in hand and need to decide faster. Not sure if that played any part in the reject!

My concern is that this didn’t happen only once; it’s been multiple times across different organizations

I’ll been interviewing a lot of people over the last 5 years. Some were easy reject. Like obviously it wasn’t a fit, they couldn’t answer the question at all. Some easily aced the interviews and were actually be able to pick one of multiple Apple teams they got an offer from. Sometimes people were super competent, aced the interview. But it’s not what we were looking for. When we ask them what they’re interested in, they’re talking about backend. But we’re seeking someone front end. Or we’re asking them if they’re good with Objective-C and they say no. Or their preferred langage of choice is JavaScript. Sadly, not a lot of feedback is kept and given back to the recruiters. So that’s why you might have that experience multiple times.

My suggestion : Ask a lot of question in the phone screen. Make sure you’re a good fit before doing the on-sites interviews.

Thanks for your insight and detailed explanation; However this certainly doesn’t seem to be my issue here since most of these positions are directly related to what I currently do and completely relevant to my interests; I always made sure the position is a good fit during the phone screens to avoid waste of time.

YOE? - For senior roles a common concern is failure to impress. Feedback review is given on a scale of 1~4. Hard to get hired w/o a few 4's (championing you and thus fairly impressed by you) and no 2s. - For Entry level positions, a single 4 or all 3s can be a hired.
