I'm a software developer with 1+ year of experience. A senior software development manager at Amazon had posted an opening for SDE1(3+years exp) on LinkedIn, so I reached out to him and he set me up with his recruiter. I had a call with the recruited a couple of days back and he mentioned that the position is considering candidates with 1-3 years of experience, so I'll be eligible for it. He asked me to apply to the job online which I did, and furthermore, I even set up a call with the hiring manager for next week to discuss the role in detail. All good until I get an automated mail from Amazon saying I was no longer considered for that position. I didn't even give the Online Assessment yet and got a reject already. What should I do in this case? Should I reach out to the recruiter and check if this is something the automated review system did? #engineering #software #swe #sde #amazon #recruiting #rejection
Good job, this is networking done right. Let the HM know you got a rejection but are working with the recruiter to find new roles with Amazon...chat more about the role, what his team does and what you want to do. Next time, he'll remember you. Do this for other companies, other roles and you're doing what it took ppl lots of years to realize. Networking is not about success every single interaction but it is about getting your name out there and increasing your chances beyond the people who just apply online
Probably an automated system that saw you didn’t have the 3yoe and rejected. If you mark yourself as open to opportunities on LinkedIn tbh you’ll probably get Amazon recruiter spam, especially if you connect with some tech recruiters first.

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
just an automatic system fucked up or the role just got canceled, ask the recruiter for another role
