Thanks in advance for your insights! I’m relocating from the east coast to the Redmond campus and I’m not sure what part of town I want to live in. I’m a single 28 y/o woman, so I don’t want to move into a neighborhood with just a bunch of families but I also don’t want to have to worry about walking around at night. Main goals: Meet people (not in a rush, but I want to settle down sooner than later), close to running trails and parks (cranky without my daily workout), views would be amazing (I can’t tell from looking online what parts of town are at the top/bottom of hills), <$2k/month. Thank you for your help!
Cap hill
I wish I was 28 and single. Dont doooo ittt
Hahaha oh gosh - grass is always greener!
Cap Hill , Denny triangle.
Yes there is Msft shuttle. WiFi sucks but seats are comfy.
West Seattle, either admiral or Alaska junction
How long will that take to commute to Redmond?
Downtown Kirkland, Renton Landing, Bellevue Downtown are the best bet for the perfect mix of what you’re looking for.
Lol. Yeah, if you are 40 years old with kids in high school. Bellevue downtown is kinda fine, but not the other two.
Thanks for that feedback - I’m definitely not there yet.
Similar situation. I found few studios in Seattle downtown close to Capitol Hill for about $1900. There’re lots of options.
I won’t be able to look at places until I’m out there (I think I’ll get Corp housing for a couple of weeks to hunt). Any that stand out in particular? Congrats on the move!
There’re lot of options near South Lake Union, and Denny Park. Those are nice places. Friends working at amazon recommended that! PM me if you need any help.

Is it good choice to buy cyber truck now ?
Bellevue downtown if you want to be safe. Seattle if you are feeling adventurous and ready to commute (more lively in Seattle). Redmond is dead AF.
I’m totally fine with taking the commuter bus (as long as it’s less than 45ish). What parts of Seattle would you suggest?
It'll be tricky to find something nice in core downtown under $2k/month
