What kind of relocation allowance/assistance is given to an employee who gets relocated from different city to join Qualcomm ? Friend TC in intel - Fixed - 54Lakhs Grade - 8 Variable - ~10Lakhs Offered TC im Qcom - Gross - 56 Lakhs Variable - some % JB - 10L (single payment for 2 years) RB- 10L (5 in first, 5 in second) RSU - $90K Relocation - yet to be discussed Position - staff engineer Total YOE - PhD + 2 #semiconductor #relocation #relocationpackage
Depends on the level at which he was hired mostly. Typically relocation+joining bonus is paid together but literally no benefit of that split afaik.
Why there is no benefit of splitting?

You forgot to mention the position he was offered
Relocation and joining bonus is paid lumpsum amount as agreed during offer , apart from the cash , airfare for family + 15 days accomodation along with taxi tranfer to and fro from office is provided
I have heard that 2 months basic is the standard practice ?
That's for internal transfer , not sure whether it's applicable for external hiring as well or not. And internal transfer also means to be business need not on personal need basis
