Relocation and sign on bonus/policy at PayPal
Hello everyone , I recently landed an offer with PayPal . Couple of items on my mind ... 1.I am asked to relocate to Chennai from Hyderabad. Could anyone from #PayPal tell me about the relocation support I can expect as per the recent company policy ? Would it be a flat amount or reimbursement of transfer costs etc. ? Also would there be any hotel stays provided during the initial week for me to figure out a permanent accommodation? The HR did not give much details and there was many other negotiations going on , so I do not want to push for the temp hotel stay if it's not really in the policy. 2.Would be also nice to know if anyone recieved joining bonus but joined after 2 month's notice , as the HR refused a sign on bonus by mentioning it is only people who join within a month 3. My current company notice period is 3 months , however PayPal wants me to ask for a buyout or use my earned leaves and reduce it to 2 month's. And they insist I will have to cover the buyout costs , which is about a months salary. Has anyone been asked to do the same ? As I find this quite strange coming from a company like #PayPal

HR is playing hardball. It's standard for them to buy out notice period, offer JB even if joining after 1 month. Relocation can be a lumpsum or managed through an agency in which case you will be put up at a hotel as part of the deal. The stay can be for upto 30 days. Relocation through a service provider covers hotel, commute to work, house hunting, school for kids, rental agreements, packing and moving. Truly end to end

I got joining bonus even though I joined after 2 months of notice period. However, it was little different in my case because I had some shares getting vested in my previous company in coming months so I negotiated over that.
