If there were two candidates that got an opportunity at a FAANG company. But one lived on the east coast while the other lived in the same area of the FAANG on the west coast. Could the company decide that because they dont want to give a relocation bonus they would just reject the person on the east coast? Or does FAANG companies have a lot of money so they dont care about spending some money on good candidates?
This is FAANG we're talking about, not some $200k/year revenue startup with 3 employees.
It all depends on the right fit. relocation cost is like drop in the ocean
Relocation cost is insignificant next to the value if a good hire.
This poll implies East coasters are better π€
3rd option. Will just hire whoever has the best qualifications no matter the location.
HC at Google does not factor in location or salary.
