Yeah I recently talked with Coinbase recruiter and just didn't seem like Coinbase is something people want to join. 1 year vesting policy 1 rating per year No base increase Only 5% bonus.

Uber xkgosw Sep 8, 2021

I’m assuming all this would be increased based on performance?

Base doesn't increase. Only bonus and RSU. Base is basically only for promotions. Their seniors would require minimum of 5 yoe so basically if you have 2 YOE, you have to wait 3 to get promoted

This post is dumb… people aren’t going to not work there over this. It’s still a well paid position. Not everyone feels entitled to a faang salary. They wouldn’t be doing this if they thought they wouldn’t have anymore employees… 😂😂😂 Nobody is making YOU go there. But there are certainly lower salaries elsewhere.

Can you explain what 1- year vesting policy mean?

New
linkep Sep 9, 2021

Typically companies give RSU over 4 years. These companies are vesting for only 1 year. Think of it this way: if Google gives you $400k stock over 4 years, and 1 stock is $1,000 then you get 400 stocks vested over 4 years. But with Coinbase, this would be 100k over 1 year. If stock price increases significantly, then you're getting screwed, but if your stock price decreases, then you're in luck. If you're planning to leave the company in 1 year, it doesn't make a difference at all
