What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Microsoft has 100k less
Remote with 10k less is no brainer. Microsoft has more benefits although it pays less than most of companies
Microsoft, Microsoft, Microsoft
Microsoft may just be remote for now so be careful
Don't spread rumors
Not a rumor. I applied for a remote role and got recruiter interview to HM, in both rounds they asked if I was okay/open to moving to Seattle in the future. I said no, they were cool with it but it seemed like an “remote for now” situation. YMMV.
How did you get remote ? Did you ask for it or was the role remote by default ? PS: in a similar boat. Please choose MSFT btw. Amazon is not worth it.
i’ve checked their careers portal and microsoft offers many remote positions
Microsoft any day. Don't even look at Amazon. Fuck their TC
Seriously. Trust this guy. Check where we work
I'm willing to take a pay cut if the alternative is Amazon
No brainer. Take Amazon for 100k more.
Are you trying to ruin someonexs life because your life was ruined after joining Amazon. It's not a good thing.
I read @cozydev’s post. I think they are getting pipped
I moved to Microsoft and I hate it, had a lot more fun at Amazon though it does differ between teams. But you should take amazon for the comp alone.
Even with all the PIP?
I was never remotely at risk of pip and had infinitely more impact and opportunities at Amazon, it was a far better workplace than Microsoft for me.
Remote always because that time means needing to use less PTO, more time to get work done vs commuting, and less money spent on gas
10K or 100K 🤣
