Remote VMware Sr. Staff Engineer (Cloud Security Gov. Serv.) Expected TC?
I'm looking at applying to one of these positions, and was wondering what can one expect in base and TC if the work is remote (I'm in DFW). The job requires a security clearance which is a positive for me as many don't generally have one thinning out the applicant pool. Current TC: $180K with 20 YOE #vmwaresalary
Have you checked level.fyi? If you’re on the SWE spectrum, average TC for Senior Staff Engineer is 645K. Looks like a wide range so many factors into play. I just got a remote offer and am relocating from DC to DFW (also federal). With the relo, the base, bonus, and clearance bonus staying the same before locations. The only difference is I’d get slightly less RSU (maybe 10K less total) The recruiter should give you ballpark numbers in the initial convo. Mine was nice enough to give me median packages of everybody in my BU at the level I would be interviewing for (P4 - senior). That should give you an accurate representation of what to aim for.
