Hi guys, 5 YOE, 80k€ TC. Been working fully remote as Software Engineer for SAP in Germany for the last 2 years. Want to take the next step by jumping into one of those top tech companies that: * Offer remote work from Europe/Germany * Have great tech & engineering culture * Can offer at least 100k TC for developers with 5 YOE (e.g. 80-100k base plus stock) The plan is to grind leetcode and system design for 1-2 months and then apply to relevant companies that would probably fall into the Tier 3 category from this article: https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/software-engineering-salaries-in-the-netherlands-and-europe/ I'm already on that path but I'd like to discuss with people on a similar path. To start off the discussion, here is the list of companies that i researched that seem to meet the given criteria without issue: GitLab Shopify Spotify GitHub Yelp Wayfair Microsoft Facebook Elastic Datadog Amazon Stripe Plaid Confluent HashiCorp RedHat Twitter And here's some more contenders where remote from Germany might be possible but i'd love some confirmation: Google (very few open positions and only listed as in-office) Apple (few open positions and only listed as in-office) Reddit (hiring Remote and have offices in Germany, so i assume is possible) Lyft (hiring at least in-office in Munich, Germany) DoorDash (hiring in-office in Berlin) ArgoAI (hiring in-office in Munich) AirBnb (very few positions and only in-office) And here are some companies where it seems impossible to work from Germany remotely, either because they're not hiring here or not offering remote work in Europe: LinkedIn (mostly hiring in Dublin and seemingly no remote positions, can anyone confirm?) Netflix (only administrative/sales positions in Germany) Twilio (only 1 open remote position in germany for Product Manager) Skyscanner (no office in germany?) Booking.com (require relocation to NL) Uber (only administrative/sales positions in Germany) Coinbase (no jobs in EU/germany) Dropbox (no jobs in EU/germany) Did i miss any companies? Any experience with this path, trying to work remotely from Germany/Europe for one of these "top" companies? Which are hardest/easiest to get into? Where is the remote and tech culture especially great? Etc. Also, regarding formal application: Is CV enough or do these companies require cover letter as well? Include photo or leave it out for data regulations and similar?

Salesforce :)
How is the engineering culture and tech there?
Culture could be team/department dependent. Tech is a mix of old and new world, you might hear cloud and jsp's in the same conversation...
I can confirm that Twitter is hiring from Germany. I have a friend who lives in Berlin and working remotely from there.
Great, thanks!
