You're asking the wrong question. Most companies dock between 10-20% if you're not in a tier 1 city, which means in most MCOL cities you're still making more than you would. TC: $550k YoE: 8 MCOL city in the midwest
Which company you work for?
At your 550k TC the 20% paycut would be $110k. What does your budget look like where you could save $110k a year by moving? Mortgage, groceries and gas aren't gonna get you there... BTW Google is up to 25% cut, and Docusign is up to 30%. So you'd have to account for up to $165k per year in savings if you're at a company like them.
