Rare in practice but I pretty much never sat at a desk or worked from an office, in my last few years there (I was the only person in a satellite office on a team otherwise based at Cali HQ). FB’s performance review system is so rooted in peer feedback that it incentivizes/necessitates socialization, and in general isn’t a great environment for the lone wolf type of person who just wants to get work done on their own.

It used to be a thing, but then they cracked down on the remote workers and made everybody relocate to mpk or be let go
No remote positions but you can work remotely every Wednesday
Why Wednesday?
This was conceived as a mid-week break from the misery of Bay Area traffic, so that after spending 3 hours a day on shuttle busses on Mon/Tues, ppl would have a no-commute day before doing it again on Thurs/Fri.
