Remote work for VC, PE, IB, and HF

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to gauge how remote-friendly high finance is for VC, PE, IB, and HF. My initial impression is “not really” or “not at all”. I’ve been on the corporate finance side and am hoping to pivot into Corporate VC internally then leave but also keeping my eye out for external opportunities. I know some firms have been more gung ho than others in getting people back into the office. I am in the Philly/NJ/DE area and there aren’t a lot of great options in high finance. Vanguard and SEI Investments are the main two but I don’t think the pay is great at either. I did apply to Vanguard’s investment rotational program but didn’t even get an interview. I also know the job in high finance market isn’t terribly big either which is why a lot of people are Leetcoding their way into tech which seems to be a lot more remote-friendly. Any guidance is greatly appreciated! 🙂 TC: 143k YOE: 7.25

I would say IB and PE aren’t friendly at all. VC might be slightly better, but also really depends on your boss/team and their views.

Most are not friendly, but if you are irreplaceable given desk dynamics, YMMV. I (S&T) am now permanently remote
