Remote workers are greedy, selfish and only care about themselves instead of the good of society

The remote worker does not care about the implications working remote causes to a local economy. For one, they are extremely privileged. With remote work, that means less business for everyone else. No more Starbucks and service employees, gas station clerks, mechanics at oil shops, restaurants for lunch, clothing and retail etc. The normal office commute life style is a massive economy on its own that has a domino effect. It employs an endless amount of people. The remote worker is equivalent to how people use to kill coral reefs. They think it doesn’t have any effect but it’s all connected to life one way or another, much like the commute is. Without the commute, mass unemployment arises and businesses shut. Not to mention many remote workers invade cheaper towns and out price hard working locals but that’s a whole other story. All remote workers care about is going to ‘work’ in their pajamas because they are entitled rather then contributing to the good of society like Americans have for hundreds of years.

Yes, why don't you go ahead and dedicate your life and your savings to your local Starbucks worker? Also, why don't you live in a fancy neighborhood where a 1 bedroom costs 700k$?

You think you’re better than a Starbucks service employee? The commute employs an ENDLESS amount of service workers who are trying to make ends meet.

Google fumangr Oct 22, 2023

As a remote worker I still support Starbucks employees and other businesses by going to my local establishments since I’m too busy to make myself lunch. Your argument implies that one Starbucks service employee (near the office) is worth more than another (near my home)?

Sounds like inefficiencies being eliminated by remote work😂

Aren't states literally passing laws to allow children to work to cover shortfalls in the number of people working? Also feel free to go to lunch twice once for you and once for me. Thanks!

Yeah this logic doesn’t add up, but nice troll.

Google hunterone Oct 22, 2023

In contrast to non remote workers who care about society and not about themselves.

Rubrik ahahbaga Oct 22, 2023

As a former starbucks employee i would rather have people working remotely in LCOL so starbucks opens there and we also have better life.

Meta toastman Oct 22, 2023

A lot of that logic is true but I’m still pro-remote. It’s not my responsibility to provide for all those other people. They can go get a better job. I shouldn’t have to waste $50/day commuting so some people can have jobs that add no value to society. An economy shouldn’t be built on consumption of useless crap.

DHI Title euoW48 OP Oct 22, 2023

These jobs DO have value to society. They pay taxes, they consume, they have kids etc. it’s all a domino effect. It’s like how killing a certain spider would destroy the environment because now a key layer is gone. Classic techcel who thinks he’s better than everyone.

Value to society …. Consumption of useless crap … Your metrics disqualify your job.
