Reneg offer to negotiate?
I was impacted in layoffs. Prev L3, 230k, found team internally bt dont want miss out on Severance and level upgrade. Will hv to work 2 yrs again to L4. Also relocate to Pittsburgh. Accepted an offer from Oracle ic2 Tc: 185k L3 Got another FAANG offer Tc 337k L4 I dont want to join that other faang coz of toxicity. Should I reneg Oracle and expect them to give me L4(ic3). How should I make this conversation? Tc 0 Tc after offer: 390k (340+50k severance) Yoe 3
What are these posts anymore? Zero common sense. How's that conversation gonna go bud? "Yeah so the candidate got another offer and wants us to match it." "Yeah sure what is it like 10-20k?" "Uhhh like $140k more..."
I interviewed them for L4, they down levelled coz of the layoff. My interviews were solid. They lowballed af.
Oracle downleved you because you were laid off?
No harm in asking how close they can get to your other offer.
I assume that other FAANG is Meta? The grass isn’t always greener - with that comp difference, no way in hell I would stay with Oracle over meta.
