Renege Amazon for Marqeta?
Amazon l5 Tc 285k (175k base, signon 110k y1, 80k y2, 250k stocks) Marqeta Tc 230 (150k base, 15% target bonus, 220k stocks over 4 years) I believe there's a bit of room for negotiations as this is the first offer without using Amazon offer for leverage. Recruiter mentioned rsu refreshers that are 25% of initial grant that vest immediately, which would make the TC 285k, equal to Amazon as they don't have refreshers. Also marqeta has better parental leave policies which will be very useful for me soon. I already accepted Amazon offer. Should I renege for Marqeta? Also will Amazon open more doors for me? Mainly looking for WLB, Amazon team seemed relatively chill as the team only owns tier 2 services, and the manager seems nice as well. But I would feel bad for reneging. Also have Google in progress but I still need to go through hc but who knows when that'll unfreeze and if I'll even pass hc Current TC 0, laid off from another smaller company I joined after Microsoft

Imo, the only reason to work at AMZN is for the $$. If you can get that elsewhere with better benefits and WLB, do that!

Marqeta has great WLB and benefits but whoever told you equity refresher vests immediately flat out lied.
Equity refreshers vest quarterly over 4 years after being granted. Perhaps you misunderstood that, unlike initial equity grants at time of offer, refresh grants do not have a 1 year vesting cliff. MQ is a great place to work, so I encourage you to take a second look. All the best!
Refreshes are not guaranteed and tend to be low since they refresh regularly. In fact, many people get nothing in refreshes

Refreshers usually vest over 3/4 years. Are you sure recruiter meant vest and not assigned? I'd assume you'd get (25%)$55k worth of refreshers, which would vest over 4 years, so an increase of $14k/year from refreshers
The recruiter said it vests that amount every year but 55k every year does seem abnormally high so maybe there might've been a confusion. You're probably right
I work at Marqeta. What the recruiter meant was that there is no one-year vesting cliff. They beginning immediately, they will be disbursed quarterly over a four-year timeframe.
