Got a new offer letter with AT&T and would like your evaluation. Sr Director, Marketing Base $200K Bonus 25% Signon $50K. Has to be paid back in full if employment ends prior to 18 months. RSU $65K with 3 year vesting YOE 10 Is it normal that there is no severance clause in Director/Sr. Director roles? Job located in Dallas, Texas. #att #tc #compensation #tech
I am fed up with lowballing on a Director level position. They were adamant on high bonus tied salary on account of being a director position.
Marketing titles get so inflated.
In Amazon Director level is a different ball game. But outsider director can best land at L6 or L7 which is Manager.
It is lower than our SDE2. L7 Manager currently have target comp around 400K+
only problem with amazon is that the base is around $150K and the RSUs depend on the stock price appreciation. If stock does not appreciate, you don't make much, do you?
SDE2 is Senior Director at Amazon?
OP, have you looked at levels.fyi or Glassdoor for a comparison? RSUs seem low, but I don’t have knowledge of the Telecom industry for marketing. Base seems about right for Dallas.
No severance clause is normal. Tc looks semi reasonable for marketing/non-tech role. At a tech company you’d probably make more but that’s the nature of it
DM me for more information
Sent you DM...Thanks for sharing any info
@OP run! This company is a 🗑 🔥. I would only come over here if you want a chill wlb and lots of politics. Inertia rules the day here
Which company does not have politics? :) :) How are other companies in Telco like Vonage for example?
Yes I agree politics are everywhere. However, the vibe I pick up here is that despite a need for the company to innovate and change in order to survive and thrive, I have yet to see anyone who is willing to make that change. Feels like everyone is way too comfortable here despite the stock price. I’ve worked at one other telco. Ma bell feels worse. Other place was always trying to evolve, even if politics were in play, the question was about HOW to evolve, not IF it should evolve. Though I’d love to hear other experiences here. For reference, I’m on the business side of the company, but work a lot with tech/product.
OP, Is it AVP position? L3 Director bonus is 19% while L4 AVP bonus is at 25%. Anyhow, Its a decent offer ATT for non-tech role.
Isnt it low?
Can you elaborate more? what is your title, employer and TC plz?
I gotta do this "blind thing" at least once! Sr. Manager, 1.2M . Had a competing offer for VP with 350K ( public mid-size company) - recruiter wanted to make sure that I knew that they will work my ass off for that money. Some companies throw big titles to pay less. I bet your company also has svp, gvp, evp....
