how hard is it for a ML phd to get hired as a research scientist at Google? Phd with a few papers and 3 years experices as a Data scientist. TC: 150k base and 88k rsu #google #googleresearch

Generally RS are the most difficult to land, but lots of folks join as SWEs and do research. It is very selective.
