Research labs vs applied science

Hi there. I'm interested in research labs such as Google Research, and Microsoft Research. I think these are obviously among the most prestigious industry research labs, and I consider them equivalently good. Going down a little bit more applied, I see many other options, but I'm not sure how they compare. In terms of pure research vs. applied science, what are similar labs? I would put them as follows, but I might be largely wrong, especially on the applied side. So please let me know! - More research oriented (publication is the utmost goal): Google Research, Microsoft Research, and Facebook AI Research, DeepMind, OpenAI, Salesforce Research, Adobe Research. - More applied science (but chance to publish): Amazon Alexa, Facebook AI Applied Research Actually, I don't know much about the applied science labs. Can anyone help me? Also, where should I put relatively new labs such as Salesforce Research, Disney Research, and Adobe Research. I will update the post as I find more information. PS. Updated the lists based on feedback. #research #researchscientist #publication #researcher #msr #googleresearch #fair #faiar #phd

I didn't notice them. I haven't read any paper from them at least in my area. SAP Labs sound the most relevant..
