What to do if they counter offer ?
Politely decline
Cry
Is it worth asking manager, to match the 30% pay difference, the other company is offering ? Not sure if companies match upto 30% pay difference, especially when they didn't budge during their own offer. How the market is, with people getting multiple offers; if recruiters pay start of band, then other companies will poach talent easily. Even in the remote case, they take approvals to match; could there be toxicity down the line, no hikes, etc. Has anyone experienced this, stayed back on same counter offer and had it happy. Lot depends on value add too. But perhaps value add, to some extent lies in the eye of the beholder too.
Yes absolutely - I’m a tech career coach and have worked with dozens of clients throughout this type of scenario. Remember - it’s always greener on the other side. Moving ahead requires going to the new job, you applied and looked around for a reason after all. If you stay, not only will you be resented but you will now need to work even harder to “socially justify” your unequivocal unhappiness and the management will look at you poorly. Trust me, it’s always bad blood and you will be the first to go, no matter how good of an employee you are.
Make sure you understand when your health insurance ends for your current job and when it starts for your new job and do something to address the gap (modify end date, retroactively go on cobra)

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
I just did it last week. Just told my manager I needed to have a quick call with him and informed him of my decision to leave. In regards to vest, always quit after vest. But, do not let vest stop you from going to another company. Look at the entire offer, sometimes it's worth it.
