I have gotten a Google offer and I plan to join them in a week, but I just saw posts that they won’t resume PERM, but my existing employer has filed for my PWD Is it worth it for me to join Google or stay with Google? I’m currently on my 4th year of H1B TC $240K Current TC $120K#workvisa #h1b
It isn’t approved, I’m at PWD stages with my current employer
Don't leave (as long as you're okay with working from another country while your perm is in process)! I made the same mistake leaving Dell for Google! And I'm in my 5th year now with pwd and stuck in recruiting. . perm is already paused and I'm kinda screwed!
Get that sweet PD secured first
My H1B is transferred, what can be the consequences of saying NO now ?
Check with Attorney. You current H1B should be valid until expiry or your current company notifies USCIS
My current company wants to keep me, Just thinking now as I have to make a decision soon
Congrats on the offer and clearing the interview. All the best. :) I hope I can clear Google interview one day
Aim higher :)
I have leetcode count 75. The probability of me clearing Google in my lifetime seems very thin until i clean myself up and start studying vigorously. I just recently( this January )became aware on how to prepare for interviews in a structured way, hld, lld,ds&algo, programming languages. Prior to this I just revise some ds questions and programming languages to clear the interviews. I have been fooling myself that I know many things until now. I always had received good ratings in performance reviews at office. I'm 32. What do you mean by "aim higher"? If you could please elaborate, it will be very useful
Same boat 2.5 years left… G perm process will resume in early 2025. Attorneys are confident on two year timeline as they do batch processing
At this point, nothing's to be believed what BAL says. It was supposed to start back in Aug '23. And the reasons they gave during one of the sessions in late' 23 for not restarting were absolute sh*t.
Yeah don't believe BAL. In 2025 they may decide to delay the filing of Perm. The only thing guaranteed is that they will NOT start before 2025.
Trust me from personal experience. ** Get your I-140 first, then move to any of your 'dream' companies **
Do you have i140 approved or is this your first ? If so, better to stay with current employer until you get i140 since Google has paused PERM and immigration told that they might resume only in 2025 or case by case basis. See if you can delay your joining date at Google.
THIS - You will need to get atleast one approved I-140 with 6 months validity!
Hey what do you mean ‘6 months validity’. Do you mean 6 months should pass after I 140 is approved? I’m in a similar situation hoping to get some clarity. Also if I 140 is approved and 6 months pass can I switch jobs ? Does the new company need to do Perm again/i140 again?
