Joining google as an intern soon on the payments team. Any tips on how to get a return offer? What tech stack/languages does the team use if anyone here knows? Felt I kindda just got lucky for the interviews since Ive been grinding leetcode for years. Kindda intimidated ngl as Im not some super good programmer but Im really looking to go back full time, any tips appreciated!
Dunno the stack, but it’ll surely be go, Java, Kotlin, and/or c++ if backend. Blaze build system you can familiarize yourself with the open source Bazel build system. If it will be C++, learning Google’s abseil library would be useful. If Java or Kotlin, Google Guice is pretty much everywhere. And if it’s frontend your best bet is learning Angular. If they haven’t already communicated any of this, it’ll be expected for you to learn as you go, but it couldn’t hurt to give yourself a head start. If you want a return offer, do a good job. Sync with your intern host frequently, ask questions to get yourself unblocked on your intern project, and deliver as much as you can towards it.
