Who's actively looking at a house with 1-1.5 hours of commute after today's announcement by Microsoft? In a year, I expect full 5 days a week. TC: 300K
🙌🏼
Housing will only go up.
It should slow down
I'm not going to an office full time anymore. They can try.
Why? What’s wrong with working from an office? It has never been a problem before the Covid.
Wondering if whole H1B concept will be scrapped if companies know they can hire cheap labor offshore
This is going to be an absolute bloodbath for remote housing prices. Think Zoom and Peloton but worse. Tell me more about that amazing brand new house you just bought in Boise for $900K, up 200%-300% from before the pandemic. And how exactly you plan on getting to work from there.
Isn't this just Microsoft though?
People that wanted remote will stay remote. I highly doubt people come rushing back closer to work.
Office parking costs 400$ per month. Commute will grow from 20 to 60 minutes one way. I remember 3rd street in Seattle downtown, drug dealers on every corner and shootings often. I curious why companies open office close to drug dealers? Is it because supply/demand? How many office workers are drug addicted? So why I want to work remotely?
Are you speaking with other microsofities or are you just assuming that companies were all somehow going to follow Microsoft’s lead on this? Microsoft has been signaling an anti-remote stance for a very long time now. Others have been signaling the opposite.
It's just domino effect. One falls, others follow.
No one wants to RTO 5/5 days . People prefer hybrid , who are all with me raise hands 🙌🏼
