BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
Has anyone recently accepted Rippling Staff IC position in US (Bay or remote), can you share your TC breakdown and How RSUs (paper money) are valued currently ? @Rippling #Rippling Tc: 480k
I can’t speak to TC breakdown. I can talk about valuations. It’s…strange. We keep issuing RSUs at our Series C valuation of $9B. Even with two rounds of funding afterwards, nobody acknowledges the D/E funding. We haven’t done an internal valuation at regular intervals. External offers place our stock at under half the $11B valuation.
Whats will be fair valuation considering latest funding ? is $9B still justifiable
9B feels high to me. It’s so hard to judge the valuation because the company is being so obtuse about what the shares are worth. We should absolutely not be issuing shares at $9B. I don’t understand how that’s legal.
Besides valuations, I do want to stress how miserable this company is. We had a Blind poll and 70% of respondents said they didn’t like their job. WLB issues and poor management issues are constant. Many people are fired before their stock vest. Avoid us if you can. Save yourself.
I’ve not seen any layoff post for Rippling yet, wondering why did so and now hiring so may senior/staff ICs
We’ve laid off plenty. We just blame it under “performance” reasons, which are usually nonsense. We aren’t actually hiring that many. We inflate our job posting numbers to make up for fired headcount, and duplicate posts whenever possible. Many of those roles are duplicates and not all of them are actively being hired.
Samples on Level.fyi or range given on rippling career pages are things you’re looking for. But don’t come if you have other options.
Any reason to recommend not coming to rippling ?
People that do well at Rippling are knowledgeable end to end startup people. Having good understanding of startup tech and show up during work hours. It's a hard bar given the glory days for some FANG people.
I’m assuming you’re still in $CRM. joining Rippling vs staying, Cons 1. Way worse WLB: Yes, some folks can manage to have a 30-40h/week but mostly you will work on significantly longer hours while constantly syncing with different time zones 2. Less benefits, less pay: Rippling doesn’t provide any benefits instead of a shitty tier health care. At your current employer, you can rest and vest with your mega backdoor Roth and other benefits. Here? Paper money only, the higher base pay is to offset your overestimated RSUs. 3. Mental health: managers are arrogant ass kissers who only care about making c-suite happy. You’re the one who will finish the job they over promised, and the one to blame if you didn’t finish it. Folks here are constantly stressed due to the pressure from top, and let go due to the same reason. I'm afraid most folks are gone both volunteerly and involunteerly within 1 year. 4. Company Culture: Really toxic, full of ad hoc requests from all directions at every minute, no customer obsession, no earn trust, no empathy, only "Run Hard", only "Bias for Action" 5. Career growth Not really a thing here. I think I've learned way more from my previous positions. Pros 1. Nothing In summary, startups with this type of culture and leaderships can never succeed, nobody dares to take responsibility of anything, everybody's blaming others. I think it's just a combination of the miserable part of Meta, Amazon, and others. I was trapped here because I'm visa slave, please stay away from it for your own good.
You had an offer already?
Just joined 3 weeks ago Base: $285k TC: $561k Code base is messy and buggy. And I hear people getting fired before 1 year cliff as a rumor. So I'm going to start leetcoding around 8 months mark.
So you plan to get your vest and leave immediately?
The firing before 1 year is real. Somebody called it a “keeper test” and that mentality seems real. You have to go above and beyond to prove that you “deserve” your precious stock.
Whats your breakdown?
