I have some 1-2 years of experience in deep learning however I have never worked on LLMs or generative AI. If I have to study about LLMs and get hands on experience, where do I start? Anything other than coursera ?
Ask llm
Run some of the 7B parameter LLMs locally. Start by trying to reproduce a benchmark task, to ensure your setup works. Then try fine-tuning a model for a specific task, like generating a LaTex table from a CSV. Try building a simple RAG retrieval system for your local documents. As you tackle these projects, you'll wind up asking questions and researching the inner workings of LLMs. You can also read survey papers about a high-level topic that interests you (e.g. autonomous agents, LLMs capable of using tools, multi-modal LLMs, etc). The survey papers will help you understand the landscape of a particular niche. The people waiting to be spoon-fed courses in AI/ML are always behind the curve.
Thanks a lot . That was helpful . Will look into it.
