Contractor offer choice, eBay vs Wells Fargo (Kforce)
I recently received two contract offers from eBay and Wells Fargo, both are in the Bay Area. But need some help making decisions. eBay: 3 months, the manager says have a high chance of converting to FTE. full-stack role focused on front-end, using JSP. Rate: 50 (Looking for full-time conversion so the rate doesn't matter) Wells Fargo: over 12 months, React front end, Project is migrating the current jQuery website to a new tech stack. Kforce(Vendor) says I can start the green card process in 3 months after I join the company. Less than a year to get I-140 approved. Rate: 65 I love the project from wells Fargo since it matches my profile and also Kforce can start the green card process very fast. But converting to FTE is a big deal for me, and I heard eBay can start the green card process as soon as join the company. Who is the vendor for eBay? Check that contract between eBay and vendor has 'Right To Hire' clause. If it is RTH position you should be able to convert to full time based on performance.
I think eBay can hire a contractor after the 3 months of the contractor over. I'm not able to check the contract between eBay and my vendor..

Go with ebay. If you convert to FTE, you get 401k matching, holidays, RSUs, Bonus and eBay will start GC right away.. I was a KForce employee earlier and they did perm, i-140 as they promised. But eBay is a better deal here..
Thank you very much for your advise! I’m leaning to pick eBay right now. But I’m also afraid of not converting FTE successfully and then also lost the opportunity to start GC process sooner. So the risk reward for eBay is much higher...
How’s your experience with Kforce regarding their green card process? They promised they will continue my green card process as long as I stayed in the r contract for 1 year and they will not withdraw it even if I leave after the contract
Go with eBay as you may have FTe chance. Wells stopped doing H1B AFAIK!
Can you switch projects while at kforce? And will switching projects at kforce impact i140 process?
Yes, ebay starts GC right away. If you know there is even a remote chance to convert to FTE, pick eBay. No brainer. Its a complete different life than getting tied to kforce or other staffing firm for 10+ years for GC.
I think I can switch jobs after my I-140 gets approved? So I will be in KForce for 1~2 years.
