Hey all, let’s use this thread to help those out who were let go ❤️ Ro wasn’t the best place to work, and was overall toxic. But I feel bad for everyone let go today. Let’s help them out 💪 Email to staff: All, We recently made the extremely difficult decision to part ways with 18% of Ro’ers. Those impacted were informed this morning in 1:1 conversations, all of which have concluded. This decision was unequivocally the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make as leaders and I take full responsibility for the position we’re in today. While we took steps over the last 6 months to prepare for a possible downturn, including raising additional capital and narrowing our focus, we came to the unfortunate conclusion that we needed to make more significant changes to manage expenses, increase the efficiency of our organization, and better map our resources to our current strategy. Wherever possible, we slated Ro’ers into other roles within the company. Where that wasn’t possible, to make this unexpected transition as easy as possible for those who are moving on, we approached severance packages, equity, healthcare and job support in the following way: We will be offering outgoing Ro’ers two months of severance pay as well as two months of paid healthcare benefits, including access to Modern Health. We are extending the options exercise window to 3 years. We will offer career services and job placement support, including an opt-in program to refer outgoing Ro’ers to open roles at other companies. For people on leave and those who have already informed the People Team that they are planning to go on parental leave, we will honor that leave and pay severance on top of that. The Ro’ers leaving us are incredibly talented, ambitious and kind people. Their contributions to Ro will continue to reverberate throughout our organization and the experiences they have created will continue to help millions of patients across the country. Every company they join will be fortunate to have them contribute to their mission. Due to our obligation to protect patient healthcare information, there will not be a transition period for those departing the company. We know this will feel abrupt and hope you can find alternative ways to connect to say goodbye to your teammates. To those departing, there is no doubt in my mind that Ro would not be where it is today without you. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for building with us. We are deeply grateful that you chose to devote your incredible talents to helping others with their health. While we know words can only go so far, we are sorry we won’t continue the journey together. To those staying, I know this is difficult for all of you, too. We’re parting with Ro’ers you stood shoulder to shoulder with in an effort to revolutionize healthcare. It is extremely natural and understandable to feel let down, to have fear about what the future holds, and to doubt this decision. On top of it, we’ve described our exciting future and our significant runway. Both remain true. I understand this duality is a lot to digest. We made this decision to ensure Ro’s long term success. In the next few days, I promise to share more about our bright future ahead. Today, I ask that we focus on thanking our departing colleagues for their efforts. If anyone has questions or needs additional information on this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the founders or your People Partner. Z

What a dumb company name
So many noname companies layoff posts today
Soon will be our well known company?
I am surprised how in a couple of weeks companies suddenly know they are screwed and have to lay people off? The CPO is still hiring:
Calling them Roers is possibly soothing their pain
What is Ro?
Telehealth. They are the parent company behind brands like Roman.
