Robinhood account, while moving back to India
I am an active user of Robinhood, I have both stocks and options. I am moving back to India... what should I do with my Robinhood account... Can I continue using it from India? #personalfinance #investments
You need other brokerage that supports non tax residents.
I will be paying taxes in US for this year. Does that mean I can use Robinhood till end of this year?

Better transfer it before you leave us, or you need multiple oversea calls. Don't realize your gain this year, since they will be tax free when you are not tax resident.
Won't that be taxed in India even if I realize the gain next year?
Not familiar with the capital gain tax in India. Some other countries have no capital gain tax or don't track your tax oversea.

Visa was the primary reason. Also this covid has given infinite WFH opportunity, so this would be a good time to stay with family. So I am planning to stay with family some time, Maybe I will move to some other place after covid settles down.
Are you going for good? If so, screw the IRS, they are not gonna come after you in India 😂

Maybe I be back in USA after 5-10 years....I can always make money in US than the amount of tax they will collect.
Etrade also allows you to hold accounts from India like ibkr pro.
Start moving it to interactive brokers or other 'serious' brokerage when you start getting into international stuff. IBKR can also convert to Rupees and move to Indian banks I think. (I was able to move money to UK banks relatively easily via it and get good prices on the currency conversion)
