Hi Roku friends, How is your experience with Roku? I’ve read many negative reviews about the culture of Roku. Now hesitant to take the offer. Can anyone share some thoughts? YOE: 5 Offer: 280k #tech #roku
Same boat as you, but planning to talk to hiring manager
Ask them to talk to some of the engineers in the team you’ll be joining to get their input
Roku tries to copy Netflix's culture, but worse than it.
Do not come here, horrible place, hire and fire culture. Manager blame you for small mistake
Yes agree (current roku employee here) They are only very few mistakes in the world that you can do that are actually worse than accepting an offer at Roku
Lol this isn’t true
Is it non-tech role ?
Which role and location is the offer? This seems low for senior swe in Bay Area.
How long does ROKU take to say yes/no? I heard it’s two days at the max? It’s been two days in my case, can I assume it’s a no?
Joining roku in current condition is worst decision, few dept has hiring freeze, soon after next quarter they will start layoff,
Which dept has hiring freeze?
is anyone concerned about the future of roku? are there clear plans on how it plans to compete with the other tech giants? despite culture, I want to know if I were to move over that the company will be successful especially since bonus is based off equity.
There’s no bonus. Mostly big cash. Good future, don’t mind the short term noise.
What's the offer? And what level?
Roku doesn’t have level. Offer is shown in the thread.
Ohh so this is new tc... Seems low for the bay area and swe role. As for culture i have heard it's not that bad just that they work like startup so it's a little chaotic.
