Someone reached out from 10X for comp. bio role. I am considering interviewing. What kind of salary/package can I expect for comp bio 1 in Pleasanton? Recent PhD with <1 YoE and 2 internships. #10xgenomics
If you have a PhD, you will go for comp bio 2 instead. Baseline should be more or less 140k, not sure about the RSU package.
Thanks for the info :) Do you know if they do sign-ons?
Yes, but nothing crazy, I doubt it would go beyond 10k.

No idea what comp would be for the role specifically, but in general fresh PhD would probably be 90k+. Then bump that at least 25 percent for bay area col. 10x is a cool company. I'd imagine 100-125 with a chunk of equity sounds reasonable
Glassdoor seems to agree but thats pretty low for bay area. We usually give 130k/10k in SD for new PhDs
I've never lived in the bay area so I'm guessing a bit based on the rest of the nation, but I've certainly heard that biotech salaries in the bay area lag behind SaaS etc companies, even for dry lab work. Illumina is one of the bigger companies in the space, I wouldn't be surprised if they pay a bit better than others
