Have offer from both companies for a sales role. Wanted to get some insights. Rubrik seems to position themselves as cyber security company and sounds sexier but can it transform truly as cyber security or still data protection? Seems like Veeam, commvault, and other data protection company are all talking about the same messaging. All about ransomware. Will it really IPO this year? Netapp, seems to have a better sales force, and easier to sell. but is storage company losing market share to HCI and Cloud? How’s the longevity of on premise SAN storage technology market? Rubrik TC 290k Netapp TC 275k
I have worked at both and of the two would recommend NetApp.
I keep hearing about rubrik IPO soon. Do that, bigger potential upside with equity ( albeit tech ipos haven’t been doing great last two years).
Rubrik just missed the IPO opportunity and should have done in 2021. I know a senior director their personally and I don’t know if they will ipo anytime soon and even if they did, it’s going to suck
@OP: How is sales TC calculated? Commission is a big chunk of your comp, right? Is commission on top of 290k?
290k is base + comm.
Is comm typically capped?
Rubriks culture is tough right now, bit toxic. Would not recommend.

Lol don't trust rubrik. They have been IPOing every year since last 5 years 😂😂 If you leave before IPO, you don't get your vested rsu. Don't fall for them.
This year seems to be promising according to the sales leaders that interviewed me.
That's how they hired all the talented people and many are stuck there because company hasn't IPOed and they would loose all their RSUs.
