Running into former college classmate a decade after graduating

What do you do? Context: You lived on the same floor freshman year and became the best of friends throughout all four years of college. However, after graduation, he/she made zero efforts to keep in touch. Meanwhile, you see on Instagram/Facebook him/her hanging out with a bunch of other classmates. You made efforts to reach out initially, but eventually stopped. He/She never reached out during this time, not even once. What do you do if you run into him/her ten years after graduating on the streets?

People change a lot in 10yrs. Priorities change, lifestyles change, hobbies change etc. Make small talk and move on

Would you limit it to just small talk? Or try to rekindle the relationship?

Cruise crooser Jan 31

@OP, not worth rekindling anything IMO. It sounds like you’ve made your efforts and they were rejected. Make your peace with it and move on. Your life has been fine without this person and it will continue to be fine without them.

What efforts did you make to reach out?

NVIDIA bharatbest OP Jan 31

Email, facebook. Especially made an effort to reach out on bdays. Was either met with a one-word response or ignored completely.

There is a middleground with these options. Why are you taking extremes?

Small talk and just leave?
